Welcome

I am an Associate Professor in Responsible Leadership at Trinity Business School, Trinity College Dublin, and a Fellow of Trinity College Dublin (FTCD). I currently serve as Academic School Director of The Lir Academy, Ireland’s National Academy of Dramatic Art, and as Academic Director of the MSc Management at Trinity Business School.

Before joining Trinity, I held positions at the University of St.Gallen and the University of Konstanz, and I was an invited visiting scholar at INSEAD, the University of Michigan (Ross School of Business), the University of Groningen, and IESE Business School. I received my PhD in Business Administration (with distinction) from the University of St.Gallen.

Research

My research centres around the interplay between individual and collective agency, asking: How can organisations help connect (previously disconnected) individuals across different backgrounds, perspectives, locations, and identities? In particular, I study:

  1. Communication across boundaries – how employees communicate across team and organisational boundaries,
  2. Diversity – how organisations manage demographic diversity within and between departments, and
  3. Human–AI interaction – how managers interact with AI to perform people-related tasks.

I am interested in multi-level issues among individuals, organisational structures, and society. My work has appeared in journals such as the Journal of Management, Journal of Management Studies, Human Resource Management, Journal of Business Ethics, and Academy of Management Discoveries, and has been cited in policy reports by the OECD, the International Labour Organization, the European Commission, and the European Parliament.
